`THE DON `the don is a mini mal with a full nose but a tail that will hold in a hollow wave but will still be fun in small waves or depending on the size you choose is still good for a learner. It has a semi boxy rail with a medium tail rocker with a light vee and single concave to double through the fins. Size range from 7`0`` to 7` 8``.

  This is the same as the don but more what the name say for the bigger don they are usually 8` or 8` 2`` and have the same bottom as the don but are wider and thicker unless you want a spice it up with more tail rocker and get more performance and little less area in the tail for hold. Fins can be FCS, future or glass on. Rail thickness depends on surfers weight and ability.

Andy Jordan, Shaper

Born 1963, Tauranga, and surfing since 1974. Andy travelled overseas in his early years, making boards under the tutelage of Jim Carney at the Mount around1985. Since then he’s lived at the Mount shaping boards and travelling overseas a couple of times a year testing designs and shaping overseas custom contracts.After 20 years of hand shaping, andy now for the last 5 years been useing the aku computer shaping program .

New Zealand team member at the world champs in 1990, and Multiple national final appearances with one national title under his belt. These days Andy would rather sponsor good surfers to compete so he has time for surfing and designing new models and other pass times like sailing and playing bad golf. Based in Tyne Street Mount Maunganui, Andy shapes quality custom made short and longboards,fishs and everything inbertween . Andy’s boards are sprayed by local artist 'sussie spray maker' who has 30 years experience spraying boards. Glassing and sanding is done by Richard Peake who has been working with Andy solely for the last 18years.

When Andy isn’t shaping he is often seen in the tube at the Island or looking for his golf ball

With the performance mal we have a high tail rocker with vee depth depending on the width , with a deepish double concave. The nose rocker is flat with a teardrop style concave which helps with nose riding or the normal longer nose concave. All widths and thickness can be adjusted for the size of the rider.The bigger cruisy mals are a bit flatter and with a wider tail and more just vee and less concave and more 50/50 type rails . Extras are glossed and polished or with a cider stringers if available
